How to prepare a contract for AI review
Start with the complete contract and a specific question about what you want reviewed. Check that the extracted text preserves important details, and treat generated red flags as issues to investigate rather than a decision to sign.

1. Assemble a complete, readable version
Use the version you actually intend to review, including schedules and referenced attachments that you have. Missing pages can change the meaning of a clause. Upload only material you have the right to disclose and remove unnecessary personal information without obscuring relevant terms.
- Check page order, tables, signatures and whether an amendment replaces an earlier clause.
- Prefer a PDF with selectable text. A missing or low-confidence text layer can require external Mistral OCR processing; read the OCR disclosure first.
2. State your role and review objective
Explain which party you are, the stage of the transaction and what you need to understand. For example: "I am the customer; identify unclear deliverables and questions to ask before signing." This gives the review a concrete task without asking the model to assume missing facts.
- List your priorities, such as payment wording, deliverables or termination language, without assuming what the law requires.
- Identify missing schedules, disputed facts and relevant locations; ask for those gaps to remain visible.
3. Check findings against the original
Extraction can misread a number, omit a table or separate a definition from the clause that uses it. Compare any flagged passage with the original file before accepting the explanation. A review cannot establish that an unflagged contract is safe or that every issue has been found.
- Recheck amounts, dates, negations and cross-references in each material finding.
- Keep a list of questions and proposed changes for a qualified UAE lawyer; do not sign solely on the AI review.
Checklist before proceeding
- The file is complete and I know which version it represents.
- My role, objective and missing documents are stated.
- I will compare findings with the original and obtain human review before relying on them.
